The Tuscaloosa County Democratic Party stands in solidarity with the United Mine Workers of America in their Unfair Labor Practice Strike against Warrior Met Coal. As a Party, we believe all workers deserve fair wages and safe working conditions, and we support the working families of the UMWA in their fight against the big money interests of Warrior Met Coal.

We are partnering with the United Mine Workers of America’s Strike Pantry to collect funds and supplies for workers and their families. Donations to the strike fund and the food bank fund are especially needed at this time, as well as school supplies so no children are left without what they need to be successful in the classroom.

Anyone who wishes to donate can drop off checks, school supplies, hygiene products, and other household items to the Tuscaloosa County Democratic Party headquarters at 3311 Loop Rd. in Tuscaloosa during the week of June 21. The office will be open for donations on Tuesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 24 from 10am-2pm and on Friday, June 25 from 12-4pm. All checks should be made out to the UMWA 2021 Strike Aid Fund.

Supporters can also send donations to the UMWA Food Bank Fund at https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/UMWAStrikePantry and to the general strike fund at https://umwa.org/umwa2021strikefund
