The Tuscaloosa County Democratic Executive Committee (TCDEC) is fully committed to the platform adopted by the Democratic National Committee and adopts as its own the Alabama Democratic Executive Committee’s Statement of Principles as enumerated in the Bylaws of the Alabama Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC):

We unapologetically support progressive ideals and work tirelessly to elect Democratic candidates.
SUPPORT CANDIDATES
Some of our most visible work has always been around election campaigns.We support Democratic state representative and senate candidates, as well as candidates for all county offices.
SUPPORT COMMUNITIES
In times of crisis, the County Party steps up. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve supported the West Alabama Food Bank, the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank, and other local groups.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,351 square miles, of which 1,322 square miles is land and 30 square miles is water. It is the second-largest county in Alabama by land area and third-largest by total area. It is located in the west central part of the state, in the region commonly known as West Alabama and divided into four commission districts.
